This was an editorial project which involved copyediting, typesetting and designing the cover, inside and prelim pages of the text “From the Book to the Streets”. We also had to perfect bind and physically craft the book. During this project I carried out extensive research on typefaces, grid layouts with the aim for legibility and a comfortable reading experience.

Feedback from peers and lecturers allowed me to position images and text whilst using a grid to maintain visual harmony. When creating my prelim pages, I was able to ensure that all my design choices were functional and aligned with the academic tone of the book. The most rewarding part of the project was the crafting process of my cover, which involved sketches inspired by historical ornamented typefaces and included special finishes like
gold foiling.
